OUTREACH - GLOBAL

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Juda and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8. Ardmore Moravian Church is a congregation that fully believes in The Great Commission. We have several families in full-time mission service among unreached peoples.  The congregation provides prayers and financial support for not only our missionaries but others of whom we have had the opportunity to meet and learn of their mission work.

ASIA

The Woo Family are members of Ardmore Moravian Church.  They are serving with Overseas Mission Fellowship in Asia.

MEXICO

The Thiessen family are members of Ardmore Moravian Church serving with Mennonite Brethren Mission.  They are part of a team focused on bringing the Kingdom of God to the Mixtecs. This team has a focus on comprehensive discipleship that is oriented towards growing healthy churches among the least reached and indigenous peoples of southern Mexico. They are preparing future missionaries through apprenticeships that apply theological and technical understanding to engagement in cross-cultural ministry.  Phil and Eunice Raiford are members of Friedberg Moravian Church and also are serving in Mexico with the Mixtec Ministry.

CROATIA

Michael and Brenda Brent are members of Friedland Moravian Church and are serving in Croatia with Campus Crusade.

HONDURAS

Alas de Socorro

Alas de Socorro (Wings of Mercy) is an aviation ministry from the Moravian Church in Ahuas, Honduras that serves the Miskito people living in the coastal lowlands of Eastern Honduras. Wings of Mercy transports people by air in need of emergency medical care to the Ahuas medical clinic due to the lack of accessible road ways in that region. They also transport pastors, missionaries, church workers, and others who travel to these remote villages.

Ahuas Medical Clinic

Ahuas Clinic serves the indigenous Miskito people via an active outpatient service and a public health program that focuses on prenatal care, midwife education, nutrition, vaccination, and HIV detection and prevention. The hospital averages about 10-20 inpatients, and provides obstetrics care and general surgery. The goal is excellent, compassionate care in the context of spiritual support and limited resources.

KENYA

The Tesh family are members of Christ Moravian Church.  They are serving with Youth With A Mission at the Ray of Hope Orphanage in Kenya. Ray of Hope is dedicated to serving children, communities, and the church of Africa. The Teshes feel that God has called them to reach the Kenyan coastal communities with God’s good news. Whether in cities or rural “bush bush” communities together with co-workers and partners they desire to see the lives of people transformed holistically; the gospel of Jesus changing lives and communities

MIDDLE EAST

Kevin and family serving with Global Church Movement in the Middle East.

SIERRA LEONE, AFRICA

Mohammed and Safiatu Braima are serving in church planting in Sierra Leone, Africa.  They are sponsored by Little Church on the Lane in Charlotte, NC.  The Braimas’ return to their native land has greatly impacted not only their own small Muslim village, but also many others in the Kailahun District of that West African country. Our main support is to the school.  The Moravian Secondary School in Ngiehun, which educates about 200 students each year, is a source of pride for everyone in the village. Even the Muslim parents are grateful to be able to send their youth to this Christian school, which provides a quiet, daily witness. But true to the way Mohamed and Safie do everything, no religious beliefs are forced, only shared.

UNITY WOMEN’S DESK

The Unity Women’s Desk is a ministry of the worldwide Moravian Church. Its purpose is to positively impact the lives of women and girls by coordinating the spiritual, financial, educational, and material resources that exist throughout the Moravian Unity.  The most pressing issues facing women and girls today are in the areas of education, health, economics, and violence against women. By raising awareness of these issues, developing solutions, and enlisting help from our worldwide Unity, the Unity Women’s Desk hopes to improve the lives of women and girls everywhere.
